Founded in 1974 in Canada, and in 1985 in the U.S. as a specialty engineering and contracting company, Landmark works throughout North America, with principal offices in Dallas/Fort Worth, Toronto, and Chicago. We are committed to growth through leveraging our core competencies in planning, engineering and construction excellence, cooperative project execution, and client service with expansion into new markets involving water, energy and the environment. Landmark Structures transformed water storage with the introduction of the composite elevated tank, combining a reinforced concrete pedestal and welded steel tank. In a span of less than 20 years, this development propelled us from innovator to market leader, with the composite elevated tank rising to become the established industry standard for large capacity storage of up to 3.5 million gallons. We have now added spheroid elevated tanks for lower capacity applications.
While our symbol reflects our origins and signature product, it means far more today as Landmark continues to grow and expand. The expertise we’ve developed on a broad range of projects has generated proven capabilities that we offer through our core business and vertical companies.
We set a high standard when we chose our name, so every project must achieve Landmark status. Our philosophy at Landmark is simple: Setting and advocating the highest standards. We deliver on three fronts: Precision Comprehensive attention to every detail, demonstrated by the operating efficiency and superior aesthetics that make our projects stand apart in the industry Performance: Dedication to collaborative project management, thorough execution and the resolve to do things right--and to making the experience of working with us as good as the result Value: Providing the best capital and life cycle cost, in a compelling and competitive offering
These principles drive us because of what we believe—that highly visible infrastructure and projects that some regard as merely utilitarian should be more than just adequate—they should fulfill higher expectations, and the highest practical standards. If you’re going to build it, you ought to build it right. At Landmark, we can deliver on the high standards we set, because they are supported by the accessible, accountable and responsible culture we have created, and the values that enable it to thrive: Our clients and partners are the essence of our business, and their satisfaction provides opportunities for growth
Our employees are the keys to long term relationships, which they build by doing things right
Our work is the ultimate, enduring mark of our organization, and must display excellence in every respect. We are pleased to share our philosophy with you, and look forward to demonstrating it on your next project. Learn more about how we think and work throughout our site.
Capabilities
Design-build competencies for a wide range of infrastructure projects
Landmark’s focus on self-performing the majority of its field construction work has created a strong knowledge and talent base, well-suited for a variety of engineering and specialty contracting applications. We are recognized for our ability to deliver precise design-build solutions at any site in North America; the performance of our highly-developed process and project management systems, geared to generating consistent, on-time projects results; and the value of our capital cost and maintenance/life cycle cost advantages.
This section defines all that Landmark has to offer, to help shape a discussion of your needs and how we can meet them. While many of our skills are represented in the design, engineering and construction of our signature product, the composite elevated tank, they extend to other municipal and heavy industrial markets. They involve many types of containment, piping and controls, as well as work in concrete, steel and coatings for projects that store, convey or convert water, energy or other environmental resources.
Explore Landmark’s capabilities, and our initiatives underway in Energy and Fuel Systems and Environmental Services, and let’s talk about how we can serve as your resource.
Single source solutions
A higher standard of engineering, fabrication, coatings and repair services on storage tanks and piping systems
Landmark Tank Services provides nearly 25 years of engineering and specialty contracting expertise, with hundreds of design/build projects delivered for clients in the municipal and heavy industrial markets. As the leader in large capacity elevated water storage, Landmark applies the same innovative skills to above ground fuel storage and piping systems for military as well as municipal and private sector applications. We self-perform the majority of our field construction work, and our unique ability to engineer, fabricate and execute projects—coupled with the high standards of performance we set—can bring clear, single source advantages to your next project, whether you are the ultimate client or a prime contractor focused on this work.
Engineer
As a design-build company, Landmark has a broader perspective on the engineering function, and takes ownership of its work right through to project completion. Our design, engineering and detailing staff are experts on the technical challenges that lie beneath the outwardly simple lines and shapes of tanks, and employ the most advanced tools, including finite element analysis and computational flow dynamics. Their expertise extends to related civil and mechanical systems, and helps to constantly devise the best construction and repair procedures. And at every stage of progress, Landmark adheres to all API, AWWA and ASME codes.
Fabricate
Landmark Fabrication’s high capacity tank and component fabrication operations incorporate the finest equipment, materials, and talent. Our extensive use of mill-primed steel plate eliminates mill scale and preserves the blast profile. Plus, our ability to roll wide plate to precise tolerances reduces welding requirements, simplifying production and enhancing results. Functions at our strategic North Texas location cover four primary areas, all with the latest technology: Plasma cutting, rolling, press forming, and welding systems.
Execute
Working coast to coast, Landmark’s experienced crews receive extensive ongoing training, and focus on safety, quality and efficiency as well as applicable codes and standards. They are fully equipped to handle virtually any tank erection and repair requirement, including:
Civil construction Steel erection Tank repair Piping systems In addition, Landmark has developed complete surface preparation and coatings services for all of the structures that we design, build and repair. Our high standards of process and product quality have been recognized by the Society for Protective Coatings with their coveted QP-1 Certification. It evaluates candidate firms in the four key areas of management procedures, technical capabilities, quality control, plus safety and record maintenance. It means that you can depend on Landmark for all types of coatings.
Landmark’s dedicated coatings crews follow documented quality assurance procedures on all criteria, including measurement of environmental conditions, verification of surface cleanliness prior to application, wet and dry film thickness, and low or high voltage holiday testing. This focus reflects Landmark’s philosophy that aesthetic quality is a measure of the precision and attention to detail devoted to all aspects of a project, and ultimately translates to more value for your investment.
A reputation built on tank expertise. A philosophy of higher standards.
Landmark’s heritage as an innovator in water storage provides a wealth of knowledge and talent for the upgrade of above ground and elevated tanks. This rises from years of implementing technical safety improvements, tank and support structure modifications, coatings, mixing systems and appurtenance additions or modifications. We can apply proven solutions based on a broad knowledge of applicable AWWA, NFPA, NSF, UFC, SSPC, NACE, and API codes and regulations.
Landmark has the personnel and management systems in place to provide comprehensive solutions, and to elevate your expectations.
Specifications never say, “Build to lowest acceptable standards.”
Landmark has built its reputation on the composite elevated tank, but also on other specialized applications of design, engineering and construction. Landmark’s innovative processes include a highly evolved system of concrete placement, the precise fabrication and erection of steel plateworks, and the rigorous training and efficient scheduling of a skilled, highly motivated workforce with specialized field crews. How we build is equally important as what we build, and Landmark’s operations reflect a full range of integrated functions, and a commitment to self-performing work to ensure the best results.
